I didn't use a sniper, but the blue coloured snow was a shock. :D
Unfortunatly it didn't work all too well last night, most of the times I wanted to join a game it said connection lost, and once I was in the game crashed after about 5mins.
Anyways, the map was definetly not the best choice by DICE, the looks of the trees are really disappointing (graphics set to high).

For those who still need to download the client:
http://www.4players.de/4players.php/dow ... lient.html
Quite fast, just tested it, bit more than 800 kb/s atm.
When downloaded, unzip the file and launch setup.exe.

the spec thing is weird becos my little phenom ii x2 & just 4 gig of 800mhz running with a 4870 card seemed to run ok on auto settings ?

you could also try this ?

1. Go in game and set your graphics to custom. After doing so, exit the game completely.
2. Go documents>BFBC2Beta>Settings
3.Scroll down and turn DxVersion=auto to DxVersion=9. (THis alone will improve your fps GREATLY!)
4. Turn HSAO=true to HSAO=false
5. Turn BLOOM=true to BlOOM=false
6. if you want more fps, turn MSAA and Aniso to 0.
7. Lastly, this is debatable i believe but turn [SOUND] Quality to Low. (supposedly the sound on his game is software that uses ur processor? i read that in another post, correct me if im wrong).
I more than double my fps doing these littles tricks so that i could maintain 30+ fps in combat on my native resolution- 1600x900. Feel free to post any other suggestions but these tricks worked for me on my intel 2 duo 2.53 ghz processor and im sure they will work for you. Give feedback!

..or maybe Doc

I wont be upgrading noubt to play BFBC2 unless its `uber`, which i doubt ... so if it dont run decent on a 6850DC, 8800gts & 4gb of Corsair Dominator is can kiss my ring :D

Is there any vehicle in this beta cos if not, it could become more laggy for lower specs in the full game :z

The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 console demo and PC beta will feature Port Valdez, a new vehicle focused map where up to 24 players (32 on PC) will compete against each other as either the US or Russian armies in the game's Rush multiplayer mode. Players will have access to five land and three air vehicles where the Russian side can use everything in their arsenal including Main Battle Tanks as well as the fast-moving Quad Bikes and Mobile Armored AA. The fight will also be packed with plenty of infantry combat fought alongside the waterline towards a great oil industrial landscape in the Alaskan mountains.

Havent tried it so cant confirm.
